Goshen Gives Back | October First FridaysFriends! Our next First Fridays celebration is all about Giving Back, and we hope to see YOU there!

With our October First Fridays event, Downtown Goshen, Inc. takes the opportunity to reward Goshen and Elkhart County businesses and organizations for helping to make First Fridays such a thriving, important, and impactful series. Goshen Gives Back, Oct. 4 from 5-9 p.m. in Downtown Goshen, offers the expected First Fridays array of great eating, drinking, shopping, and entertainment options, and—simultaneously—supports and ‘gives back’ to downtown businesses and area nonprofit organizations.

Eating, drinking, shopping, and enjoying family-friendly fun are—as usual—on the menu, but Goshen Gives Back includes an important, underlying cause. Participating restaurants, bars, retailers, and merchants choose a Goshen-area nonprofit to sponsor and donate 10% of their First Fridays sales to their chosen partner charity. In this way, Goshen Gives Back encourages the First Fridays community to shop locally, and—knowing all participating First Friday purchases will support businesses and their partner charities—feel even better about shopping, dining, and making great purchases in Downtown Goshen.

Have fun celebrating community with family and friends while also supporting Goshen businesses and organizations! Don’t miss Goshen Gives Back, Oct. 4 from 5-9 in Downtown Goshen.

Downtown Goshen’s plentiful eating and drinking options are in the spotlight, with participating eateries offering unique and delicious First Fridays specials. Select downtown businesses—on top of donating 10% of their proceeds to their partner charity—offer special in-store promotions and host various, fun activities for the young and the young at heart.

Main St., donates 10% to the Goshen Hospital Auxillary. Trees For Goshen is an independent nonprofit organization created to fund enhancements to Goshen’s urban forest, and the Goshen Hospital Auxiliary raises funds through events and gift shop sales for hospital equipment, scholarships, and community wellness programs.

Common Spirits, 111 E. Lincoln Ave., raises funds for Ryan’s Place—an organization that provides grief support to children, teens, and families—and Elephant Bar, 227 S. Main St., raises funds for the Campus Center for Young Children (CCYC), an early childhood program sponsored by College Mennonite ChurchGoshen College, and Amity Corporation. Fables Books, 215 S.
