Green Day Celebration | May First Fridays
Friday, May 2, 5 – 9 p.m.
Choose your outdoor adventure at this First Fridays environmental extravaganza! Our Green Day Celebration features an abundance of green events and activities, as well as live musical performances by Goshen Elementary School choirs and local (homegrown!) bands.
Visit downtown bars, restaurants, and a selection of food trucks for tasty eats, drinks, and good times with friends!

This environmental extravaganza, in collaboration with the Goshen Shade Tree Board and The Environmental Resilience Department, features many celebrations of the outdoors and sustainability awareness events and is centered on the Courthouse lawn. Be sure to head a block south to check out an Electric Vehicle Showcase presented by MACOG or park your bike at our complimentary Bike Valet station.

Award Ceremony - 6 – 6:30 p.m.

HartWood Treecare Climbing Demonstration - 7:30 p.m.

Food and Drink
Whether you’re looking for something healthy, plant-based – or just the color GREEN, downtown restaurants have options. In addition to our brick and mortar establishments, you can find quick eats with a selection of food trucks.
Attending vendors include: Hay Huey, Jake’s Food, Kona Ice, LifePoint Church, Papa’s Mini Dippin’ Donuts, Pinyo’s Kitchen, Puffles Creamery, Rulli’s Pizza, The Wiener Shack, and Tropicana Ice Cream
- Quench your thirst with Goshen Brewing Company’s Skybock Maibock Lager release!
- The Nut Shoppe will have a small production run of Dubai Chocolate. The first 50 people to inquire can get a free bite-sized sample. Stop in before it’s gone!
- Biebs and Ash will be whipping up their Elote Smash – double signature smash patties, pepper jack cheese, elote, creamy jalapeño sauce, cool ranch doritos, cotija, and shrettuce on a potato bun, served with fries.
- Drop into The Electric Brew for Brew Tacos with handmade tortillas and their Garden Fairy Refresher.


Family Activities
Kids will love this opportunity to discover, see, and touch local animals at the Wildlife Petting Zoo on the Courthouse lawn, guided by the Elkhart Environmental Center.
We will also have tree climbing activities with My Tree Climber on site to help children climb trees safely!
Other activities include:
- Mini soccer games presented by Goshen City FC
- Family craft hosted by Young at Art
- Magic shows by Jep Hostetler
- Toy axe throwing with Axes and Antics
- Paint a pot craft hosted by ADEC Inc.
- Free marigolds to children 12 and under, gifted by the Goshen Historical Society

Parents and guardians can also enjoy the Goshen Health Mother’s Tent, which offers a comfortable space to nurse and change your littles!
