Goshen Cruise-in Car Show | July First FridaysDowntown Goshen, Inc. is pleased to announce the return of the July First Fridays classic car show and competition. The Goshen Cruise-in Car Show, Friday July 7 from 5-9 p.m., will celebrate classic cars and those who own and love them, and provide a fun and relaxed setting in which to unwind from all those 4th of July festivities.

Classic and unique cars, motorcycles, and vehicles of all kinds will be showcased downtown; some just for presentation, and many for consideration in any of the judged competition’s twelve class categories — which will include Brass (1905-1914), Vintage (1918-1929), Classic (1959-1980), Muscle (1964-1972), Electric, Custom, Motorcycle, Best of Show, and more.

Like every First Fridays event, the Goshen Cruise-in Car Show will feature a multitude of food trucks, downtown food and beverage options, and our First Fridays beer garden, as well as activities for all — including a scavenger hunt and a kid-friendly firetruck display courtesy of the Goshen Fire Department. A live DJ will provide a soundtrack to blend in with the revving of engines, and select Goshen businesses will participate with special offers and in-store events.

“The Cruise-in Car Show is always a lot of fun — this is a great time of year, and people love to come out to see all the amazing classic cars on Main Street,” said Amanda McMahon, Director of First Fridays. “It’s going to be a great show and a nice follow-up to the Fourth of July holiday. There will be awesome eats and drinks to cool off with and, as always, there will be plenty to do and see for the whole family. But the continued support of our local businesses and our people is the best sight to see, outside of the coolest cars around. It’s the entire city of Goshen, everyone working together and pulling in the same direction, that makes First Fridays truly the Best of Show!”

Many food vendors will offer fresh takes on American summertime food favorites and classics, and Dutch Maid Bakery — located at 508 West Lincoln Avenue — will be operating out of its red, white, and blue booth downtown and offer an array of baked goods and treats inspired by Independence Day; including cookies, cakes, donuts, and more. The Imagination Spot, at 111 East Washington Street, will offer 10% off, July 7, on drinkware — including water bottles, travel tumblers, and coffee mugs — and the shop will also host a free Coloring Classic Cars craft event for kids from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

The Goshen Historical Society —  at 124 South Main Street — will feature the artwork of retired chaplain and Goshen resident, Don Sheline. Prints and originals of Sheline’s work — which often revolves around classic cars — will be on display. Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn, at 106 North Main Street, will offer its handmade Pina Colada Popcorn all day long and The Green Bee, at 108 West Washington Street, will offer 20% off reusable silicone food covers and beeswax wraps during the course of the car show.
