Opening Reception: Speaking In and Out

Come to an art show culminating Ida Short’s 8-month apprenticeship with Tympanum Press!

This show explores two ideas twisted together: learning a new craft and hearing stories of everyday experiences of women in Goshen. This is explored through traditional and nontraditional letterpress printmaking techniques.

Ida will give an artist talk at 5:30 p.m. giving a quick overview of inspiration for her artwork and techniques used in creating this show. Following this short talk, there will be a time for Q&A.

The show will be on display at Tympanum Press, located at 132 S. Main. Come in through the Local or in the alley entrance across from the Electric Brew. (Alley entrance: look for the “Studio, enter here” sign and the glass garage door.)

Ida’s work will be on display from May 2nd – 31st.
