Downtown Goshen, Inc. presents the Stars & Stripes Social, a July 4 First Fridays phenomenon combining the excitement of First Fridays in Downtown Goshen with the joy and wonder—and fireworks—of a traditional Independence Day celebration!
Featuring enough food, fun, and excitement to keep folks enjoying Independence Day from noon until nighttime, the Stars & Stripes Social welcomes First Fridays revelers to Downtown Goshen from noon to 4 p.m. for great shopping deals, delicious dining options, and a Classic Car Show—presented by Jayco—at the Goshen Brewing Co.
After the car show concludes at 4 p.m., the Stars & Stripes Social reconvenes at Goshen’s Black Squirrel Golf Club for additional Independence Day festivities from 5 to 9 p.m., including vendors, food trucks, kids activities, entertainment, and the First Fridays Beer Garden. Once the sun goes down over The Maple City, Black Squirrel presents a spectacular Fireworks on the Fairway display that is free for the entire community.

The First Fridays Stars & Stripes Social, July 4 from noon to 4 p.m. in Downtown Goshen—and with additional festivities at Black Squirrel Golf Club from 5-9 p.m., with fireworks following—presents exciting, family-friendly activities and entertainment; a plethora of dining, drinking, and shopping opportunities; a thrilling Classic Car Show in Downtown Goshen presented by Jayco; and the spectacular Fireworks on the Fairways display—free for the whole community—at Black Squirrel in celebration of Independence Day.
Prior to the thrilling nighttime fireworks at Black Squirrel, the Jayco Classic Car Show takes place from 2-4 p.m. in Downtown Goshen and features an array of fast machines to amaze automotive enthusiasts and First Friday revelers of all ages. The Wiener Shack food truck serves up delicious treats during the car show, and—throughout both parts of the Stars & Stripes Social—eateries and food trucks offer hamburgers, barbecue, frosty beverages, and a range of items demonstrating fresh takes on American summertime food favorites.
Between noon and 4 p.m., Downtown Goshen is a veritable shopper’s paradise, with seasonal offerings, holiday deals, unique items, and American-made goods at the forefront. Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn, 106 North Main Street, offers a FREE USA can Koozie with every purchase of a Patriotic Pop, and Fables Books—at 215 S. Main—showcases popular books and games and presents a fun Find Waldo event for kids.
The Green Bee, 111 E. Washington Street, spotlights its line of BOGO handmade soap products, and Maple City Market—at 314 S. Main Street—serves up Fourth of July grilling specials from the meat department and summer watermelon. Woldruff’s Footwear & Apparel, 129 S. Main, offers an additional 20% off on clearance sandals, along with 50% off the original price of apparel clearance items.
Additionally, participating Downtown Goshen businesses including Found, Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn, Maple City Market, The Green Bee, Goshen Brewing Co., The Fold, Woldruff’s, and Fables provide a coupon—with qualifying purchases—allowing entry into a contest for a free round of golf at Black Squirrel. To ensure contest entry, shoppers must turn in their coupons at Black Squirrel on July 4 between 5 and 8 p.m. at the First Fridays information table.

At Black Squirrel, select Downtown Goshen vendors are also on-site with booths offering wares, specials, and services—including chair massages from the Giving Tree Massage booth. A tasty selection of food trucks, and the Beer Garden, offer great food and cool brews and beverages.
Kids can enjoy adventures throughout the free, daylong event, including lawn games and in-store activities, and—at Black Squirrel, later in the evening—kids can enjoy the amazing fireworks, tasty treats, and axe-throwing hosted by Axes & Antics and a free craft from The Green Bee.
