The Fire & Ice Festival, Goshen’s annual ice-carving extravaganza, returns for January First Fridays bringing nearly 30 sparkling sculptures to downtown.
Local businesses host Goshen’s favorite, frosty experience Friday, January 7, from noon until 9 p.m., with visitors invited to watch as professional carvers sculpt creations from thousands of pounds of ice on the day of the event. Fire dancers will provide entertainment throughout the evening, with hand-warming stations available along the way.
And the City of Goshen will sponsor an oversized, frozen frame carved from four ice blocks, creating a spectacular photo opportunity for the community – only one of the countless offered up by the one-night-only, open-air gallery.
“There is always such magic in the Fire & Ice Festival, but it is only possible through the amazing sponsorship of our member businesses,” Events Director Adrienne Nesbitt said. “This year, their spirit of generosity will light two ice torches and fuel an entire evening’s worth of fun and Instagram-worthy moments. We can’t thank them enough for that!”
Select restaurants will also offer spicy food specials in keeping with the Fire & Ice spirit, with First Fridays sales and promotions offered at participating stores during the event.
