Fables Books is thrilled to invite you to our first bi-annual Local Author Showcase on May 11th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Our Local Author Showcase features local authors in a casual meet-and-greet event. Grab your Local Author Passport from any of our author tables, visit each author, get your passport signed, and then turn it into the Main Register for a chance to win a Bookish Gift Basket. Our indie authors for May are:
Jacob W Elias, author of “The Dream Lives On: Dorothy’s Word.” “The Dream Lives On” tells the story of Dorothy Word, an African American woman who dreamed of a hopeful future for her people and advocated for African American scientists, athletes, inventors, and others often not recognized for their contributions. Jacob offers a perceptive framework for an intercultural understanding of her message.
Adam Flemings, author of “The Stetson Jeff Adventures, Volume 1 & 2.” “The Stetson Jeff Adventures” takes you on a wild six-book series in two paperback volumes where Stetson Jeff, the main character, is on his quest for justice and a great piece of steak. This satirical action/adventure comedic fiction will take you back to the 1980s when MacGyver was on TV. Our Hero, Stetson Jeff, is inspired by Walker, Texas Ranger, and Forrest Gump, Inspector Clouseau of Pink Panther fame, with a dash of Crocodile Dundee and The Witness.
Karen Whalen Gouker, author of “More Than He Bargained For.” “More Than He Bargained For” follows the love story of bachelor John Hartman and Amish girl Katie Byler in late 1800s Michiana. As children, both John and Katie attend the same rural township school. Years later, John and Katie became reacquainted and experienced an undeniable attraction to each other. However, complications arise. John is not Amish, and Katie is to be married within weeks to a suitor who has her parents’ blessing. Will true love triumph in the end?
