About Downtown Goshen Inc.
Goshen, IndianaDowntown Goshen Inc.
Since its formation in 2006, Downtown Goshen, Incorporated (“DGI”) has successfully activated the downtown business district and attracted a diverse audience of people to downtown Goshen. DGI has accomplished this by hosting regular municipal events, developing collaborative promotions with downtown businesses, supporting strategic economic development initiatives, and enhancing the visual landscape of the downtown district through façade improvements.
DGI has successfully activated the downtown business district and attracted a diverse audience of people to downtown Goshen by organizing a regular series of events themed around business promotions, art, and live entertainment. DGI’s initiatives have demonstrated that high-quality, well-executed arts and entertainment events attract residents from all over Elkhart County and throughout Northern Indiana.
DGI’s events and promotions provide a significant economic boost for existing downtown business establishments, contributing to their viability. In addition, these activities allow the city to attract and retain new business establishments that support and contribute to the community’s job growth and economic vitality.
A critical component of DGI’s mission is the preservation and rehabilitation of Downtown Goshen’s historic architecture. The Façade Grant Program promotes the maintenance and rehabilitation of central business district properties by providing matching grants to businesses and building owners.
